2025-2026 STUDIO POLICIES
LESSON FEES AND PAYMENT OPTIONS
Your lesson fee guarantees your exclusive weekly time slot in Mrs Rodriguez's calendar for the academic year and is calculated based on the number on instructional weeks from September to June.
Two payment cycles are available:
Monthly (due in advance by the 20th of the previous month. Late payments incur a 10% late fee).
Full Term (due before the first lesson of the term. Those paying for the full term receive a 5% discount).
Payments are made by e-transfer to mrsrodriguezpiano@gmail.com (preferred) or by Credit Card via My Music Staff.(A 3% convenience fee is added to your total when you pay for lessons with a credit card) Lesson prices increase in June each year.
REGISTRATION
All students (new and current) must register each year in June on My Music Staff and sign the Studio Policy Agreement. There is no registration fee. In order to reserve your spot on Mrs Rodriguez's calendar for the new school year, all students must send the September's tuition by June 30th. Mrs Rodriguez is unable to guarantee your time slot for the new school year if this deposit hasn't been made in advance.
STUDIO CALENDAR
Mrs Rodriguez Piano follows the public school calendar (September to June). There are two weeks off in Christmas and one week off in Spring Break. There are no lessons on Statutory Holidays therefore, you are not charged for lessons that fall on these days. Lessons start after Labour Day. Summer lessons are optional but highly recommended and must be booked and paid and advance by June 20th each year.
MISSED LESSONS AND EARLY WITHDRAWAL
There are no make up lessons unless Mrs Rodriguez cancels your lessons. If Mrs Rodriguez cancels your lesson she will give you a make up at a time that is convenient for both parties and notify you as soon as possible. After 3 make-up options have been denied the lesson will be forfeited. Make ups cannot be canceled or rescheduled once booked. Your lesson fee reserves a weekly time slot which Mrs Rodriguez holds exclusively for you each week for the entire school year. Please, respect this policy. If you are away on a family vacation and miss your regularly scheduled lesson you will forfeit your lesson. Mrs Rodriguez cannot simply place another paying student to fill out your time slot in your absence. Your lesson fee pays for the rental of your time slot for the entire school year. No cash refunds will be given for lessons cancelled by the student. No lesson time will be made up if a student is late for any lesson.

In the event the student wishing to discontinue their lessons a minimum of 30 days notice is required by email. Payments due will be cancelled. No refund will be given on make up lessons and make up lessons will not be considered as a cash payment for early withdrawal. Any makeup lessons must be made up by the last day of lessons or the make-up will be forfeited.
MUSIC BOOKS
The student is responsible for the cost and purchase of any books used for lessons unless other arrangements have been made directly.
RECITALS
Students are encouraged to participate in recitals. Any fees required to participate in music events are the sole responsibility of the student. Mrs Rodriguez will require you to confirm your attendance and pay your attendance fee in advance in order to run shows smoothly. There will be no refunds or make-ups for missed performances.
STUDENTS PARENTS/GUARDIANS RESPONSIBILITIES
Parents must be on time to pick up their children right after the lesson ends. Mrs Rodriguez is not responsible for the student beyond the lesson time as she has to focus to teach other students. Students must wear socks during lesson at all times as outdoor footwear is not allowed in the studio.
HEALTH, WELLNESS AND EMERGENCIES
For the well being of all, sick students should stay at home. If a student is under the weather they should not attend piano lessons. Mrs Rodriguez reserves the right to cancel a lesson with a student if they appear to be unwell. If a student is mildly sick but is able to attend a lesson from home, a virtual lesson will be available at their regular lesson time. A minimum of two hour notice is required to switch to virtual lessons. In the case of an emergency during a lesson in the studio Mrs Rodriguez will take immediate action including calling 911.
GOVERNMENT OR PUBLIC HEALTH CLOSURE MANDATE
In the event that in person lessons are cancelled by government or public health mandate Mrs Rodriguez reserves the right to continue all classes using Zoom or any alternative conferencing software.
SNOW DAY/STUDIO CLOSURE
Whenever it is unsafe to hold lessons (as determined by Mrs Rodriguez), students will be contacted by text and all missed lessons will be taught online. This action will be only taken on the most severe of weather (Regular snow or heavy rain will rarely cause lessons cancellations).
EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS
Your email will be added to Mrs Rodriguez email list for important updates, daily lesson notes and class cancellations.
MULTIMEDIA AND MARKETING RELEASE
You understand that Mrs Rodriguez may record videos or take pictures of your children's musical activities for promotional purposes on social media or print advertising at any time (Check one of the boxes below).
LIABILITY
You hereby release Mrs Rodriguez Piano and its owner Milena Rodriguez from all claims for damages arising from any accident or injury to any persons while in the studio. Mrs Rodriguez reserves the right to update the studio policies at any time. Enrollment at Mrs Rodriguez Piano Studio for In Person Lessons, Virtual Lessons and In Home Lessons assume compliance with the above policies.
