LESSON POLICY AGREEMENT

Payments

Your tuition fee guarantees your exclusive weekly time slot in Mrs Rodriguez's calendar for the academic year and it's a flat payment calculated based on an average of 4 weeks per month from September to June. The 5 weeks months offset the 3 weeks month where there is a holiday or school spring break.

The invoice will be sent on the 10th of every month for payment in advance. Invoice will consist from current balance on students account and balance owing for future month tuition (Example for student starting in September: invoice will be sent for September and October, in October invoice will be sent for November etc). E-transfer or Credit Card payment is due on the 20th of the billing month - prepayment for following month. Payments received after the 20th incur a $25.00 late fee that increases by $5.00 for every week the payment is late. Mrs Rodriguez reserves the right to withhold all lessons if prepayment for the next month is not received by the due date.

Students/Parents/Guardians Responsibilities

Parents must be on time to pick up their children right after the lesson ends. Mrs Rodriguez is not responsible for the student beyond the lesson time as she has to focus to teach other students.

If you arrive more than three or four minutes before your scheduled lesson time, please wait outside or in your vehicle before entering the studio. Dropping off and picking up your child on time shows respect for other students lesson times.

Be sure your child comes to lessons with clean hands and fingernails trimmed.

Outdoor footwear is not allowed in the studio. When you enter the studio, place your shoes in the designated area. Parents and students are welcome to bring slippers or socks to wear during the lesson. All students must wash their hands when they arrive before sitting at the piano. Repeated incidents of disrespect may result in the student's permanent dismissal and no refunds will be given for the remaining lessons.

Health and Wellness

For the well being of all, Mrs Rodriguez kindly requests that you (or your child) not come to the lesson if you feel sick. Please show consideration for other families and the teacher by keeping your child at home when displaying symptoms which could spread illness to others - fever, cough, runny nose or eyes.

Mrs Rodriguez reserves the right to cancel a lesson with a student if they appear to be unwell. In this case the lesson will not be made-up or refunded. If a student is mildly sick but is able to attend a lesson from home, an online lesson will be available at their regular lesson time. A minimum of two hour notice is required to switch to online lessons.

In the event that in person lessons are cancelled by government or public health mandate Mrs Rodriguez reserves the right to continue all classes using Zoom or any alternative conferencing software.

Snow Day/Studio Closure

Whenever it is unsafe to hold lessons (as determined by Mrs Rodriguez), students will be contacted by text and all missed lessons will be taught online. This action will be only taken on the most severe of weather. Regular snow or heavy rain will rarely cause lessons cancellations however, if the studio is open but you still feel that is unsafe to travel to the studio an online lesson will be available to the student.

Parent/Teacher Communications

Parents must have an email that they check regularly for studio updates and invoices. Mrs Rodriguez won't be responsible if an issue arises due to misinformation. If you have questions about your child’s progress or need to discuss something related to lessons, you can reach out by email or text. Your email will be added to Mrs Rodriguez's email list for important updates, daily lesson notes and class cancellations.
