STUDENT AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS COMMITMENT

Students will enroll to either a 30-minute, 45-minute or 60-minute time slot reserved for a specific day and time each week and is committed for the school year between September-June (see student withdrawal from piano lessons).

STUDENT AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS RESPONSIBILITIES
Mrs Rodriguez Piano and its owner Mrs Rodriguez has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to bullying, harassment, or disrespect toward the teacher, other staff members or physical property.

Students are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner. This applies as well as parents/guardians.

When action may be required, a warning will be given addressing specific behaviour(s). Should the student continue the behavior(s) after the warning, the student will be dismissed from lessons, and will not be allowed to continue, forfeiting their lessons and no refunds will be issued. Parents/guardians are also expected to uphold these policies, and failure to comply will result in your child forfeiting their lessons and fees with no exceptions.

Students must commit to regular practice. Progress does not happen in one weekly 30 minute lesson – work and practice outside of lessons are necessary for growth.

Students must be prepared for the lesson with all necessary materials.

Parents and students must silence all TVs, cell phones, laptops, and other electronic devices during lessons.

LESSON CANCELLATIONS AND MAKE UPS POLICY (MINIMUM OF 24 HOURS NOTICE)

Students are eligible for 1 makeup lesson per term, provided that an email or a text has been sent with a minimum of 24 hours notice. After 3 make-up options have been denied the lesson will be forfeited.

Students who are sick should not attend piano lessons. Mrs Rodriguez Piano reserves the right to cancel a lesson with the student if s/he appears to be unwell.

In the event that Mrs Rodriguez Piano cancels a lesson a make up will be offered. After 3 make-up options have been denied the lesson will be forfeited.

Makeups cannot be canceled or rescheduled once booked.

There are no refunds or discounts for lessons.

No lesson time will be made up if a student is late for any lesson.

HOLIDAYS

There are no lessons on Statutory Holidays, the week of March Break or the two weeks of Christmas Break.

You are not charged for lessons that fall on any Statutory Holiday – therefore no make-up lesson is required.

WEATHER/ TRAFFIC CANCELLATIONS
In the event of a lesson cancellation due to inclement weather or traffic at the discretion of Mrs Rodriguez Piano lessons will be made up if cancelled by Mrs Rodriguez Piano.

You will be notified by text from Mrs Rodriguez directly.

SNOW DAY/STUDIO CLOSURE

Whenever it is unsafe to hold lessons (as determined by Mrs Rodriguez Piano), students will be contacted by text and all missed lessons will be rescheduled. This is highly inconvenient, and this action will be only taken on the most severe of weather (Regular snow or heavy rain will rarely cause lessons cancellations).
